K ROAD ENHANCEMENTS – HAVE YOUR SAY!

Fill in the Feedback Form and email to admin@kroad.com
Due: Monday 14 November, 2016 at 5pm

Auckland Transport and Auckland Council are consulting on proposals for separated cycleways and peak hour bus lanes in each direction along the length of K Road, which will lead to a reduction of carparks. A number of enhancements are also planned (improvements for pedestrians, landscaping, upgraded street lighting, etc.) These proposals will have strong impact on the K Road environment so it is important that we receive your feedback and make individual submissions. You can do this by filling in this Feedback Form and email to admin@kroad.com

We will use your Feedback Form as part of the KBA submission to Auckland Transport and Auckland Council – please let us know if you prefer to keep your comments confidential.

Please visit www.AT.govt.nz/kroadproject for detailed information about the project before submitting your feedback.

RUBBISH COLLECTION IN THE CBD

A reminder about the do's and don'ts of putting out rubbish in the CBD. The CBD, for the purposes of rubbish collection in the K' Road precinct, covers Queen St between Mayoral Drive & K' Road and K' Road between Symonds St and Ponsonby Rd. If your business falls on any side streets adjacent to these streets, your collection is via bins provided by council and falls under a different collection regime. Click here for more info.

CBD Rubbish Collection The official council and recycling bags are for household quantities of rubbish and recycling only e.g. from staff lunchrooms. Business rubbish is anything that results directly from commercial or trade activity, e.g. food waste from a café or bar or large quantities of packaging or cardboard from a retailer. You are required to pay for a private licensed rubbish collection operator if you have large quantities of business rubbish or recyclable materials to dispose of.

For more detail on inorganic collections click here or on recycling click here

BEGGING & STREET SLEEPING

Begging and rough sleeping have become an issue on K' Road recently. If this is a problem for you and you would like to authorize our day security to issue trespass warnings on your behalf to address it, please print out this form /manage/resources/trespass-authority-request-form-letter-2014-5-28-1.pdf fill it out and ring us at 377 5086 for collection. We can then move people on who are sleeping or congregating in your doorways etc. If you are experiencing a problem with rough sleepers or beggars setting up in front of or adjacent to your shop window on the public pavement, they cannot be trespassed, but you can ring our day security guard and he can warn them that they will be served with a breach of bylaw notice if they do not move. A breach of bylaw notice which is not heeded will eventually lead to prosecution by council.

Our advice, if you want to do something to help street dwellers, is to offer them food or non-alcoholic beverages. Alternatively you can contact locally-based organisation Lifewise on 379 6932 for information on what further homeless support services are available to them.
