2018 EVENT SCHEDULE
2018 is going to be a busy year on K' Road, with more festivals, markets, parties, exhibitions and celebrations than ever before. Dates and times are still TBA, but here is a little taste of what's to come...
Pride Festival (2 - 18 February)
During Pride, the people of Aotearoa's most diverse city will come together to celebrate progress and make love under a mighty rainbow. The Auckland Pride Festival is New Zealand's largest and loudest social and cultural programme of events for our Rainbow communities (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Takatāpui, Fa'afafine, Intersex, Queer), as well as our families and friends.
Myers Park Medley (18th February)
Now in its third year, the annual Myers Park Medley is a park-wide, family friendly festival. There will be entertainment galore, celebrity guests, clowns and a few surprises, great fun for the kids!
Matariki (30 June - 22 July)
Matariki Festival has grown to become Auckland's premiere winter festival, with more than 100 events taking part in the 2018 festival. The festival brings together events across the region to celebrate Matariki and share Māori culture with a diverse and growing audience.
95bFM presents bStreet: a massive free block party taking over K' Road and beyond. With line-ups curated by bFM's specialist DJs across and range of venues, it's one of the musical events of the year, whether you're into filthy underground bangers, grooved out disco, abrasive noise, cypher, shiny pop music, or gut-crunching hard stuff.
The Others Way
A music festival across multiple venues on K' Road organised by our very own Flying Out Records. The Others Way is always one of the highlights of the year with fantastic local and international acts performing up and down the street.
First Thursdays is a celebration of K' Road and it's eclectic and bohemian community. Here you'll find anything from street markets, bands, actors, public art, and pretty much anything else you can imagine.
Fashion Week (27 August - 2 September)
K' Road's best designers are celebrated in New Zealand Fashion week, with runway shows and exhibitions from the local designers that call K' Road home.
An annual celebration of one of the richest heritage areas in New Zealand. Karangahape Road is unique in New Zealand, not only for the history of it's buildings, but the significance of our area to the special communities that inhabit it.
An annual celebration of New Zealand Art throughout the city, including dozens of events on K' Road, all culminating in 'Electric Night', an evening when K' Road galleries stay open for late night exhibitions and street entertainment.
Al Fresco is a community based street art festival designed to inject colour into our streetscape and activate our shared spaces. This K' Road Business Association initiative is a celebration of the creativity and fringe culture that the area is famous for.
