Mary McIntyre: Drawings
McIntyre’s work is essentially figurative. Its basis lies in her commitment to the practice of drawing from the model – since 1981 she has attended weekly life drawing sessions.
Her drawings from the life model might be worked up as academic studies or they may find a place in the narrative figurative painting that forms the backbone of oeuvre. Usually female, often nude, frequently vulnerable, these narrative figures present McIntyre’s story to paint.
