Wesleyan Missionary, Temperance and Women’s Suffrage activist.
A founder member of the New Zealand Women’s Christian Temperance Union 1885. National President from 1891 to 1901. President of the Auckland branch of the WCTU 1889- 1897. YWCA Board Member 1880-1903 Annie Scknackenberg was President of the Auckland WCTU during the period when Women’s Sufferage was being debated in New Zealand.
Under her guidance the Auckland WCTU was pivotal in organising the petition which contributed so much to the success of the movement and the passing of the Sufferage bill in 1893.
